Handpicked ceramics
from Jingdezhen
A small studio selecting handmade pieces — objects with quiet character, made to be used and lived with.
A city built on clay and fire
Jingdezhen has been making ceramics for over a thousand years. It's a place where clay, glaze and fire have shaped not just objects, but a way of working that's been passed down through generations.
Studio Jing started with a simple interest in that lineage — and in the idea that a well-made cup or bowl can quietly change how a morning feels.
Made for everyday use.
What I look for
I'm drawn to pieces with a certain presence — the way a glaze breaks over an edge, a brushstroke that isn't perfectly even, a rim that feels right against your lip. These are small things, but they're the reason a piece ends up here.
Craft
You can see the hand in the work — the way glaze pools, the slight variation from piece to piece. That's what makes it worth having.
Design
Good form and good function aren't separate things. A piece should feel natural in your hand and look right on your shelf.
Everyday
These aren't pieces to keep behind glass. They're for morning coffee, for dinner with friends, for the quiet moments in between.
A studio, not a factory
I work with a small number of makers and studios in Jingdezhen whose work I genuinely like. Some pieces are one-off; others are made in small runs. What they share is a certain level of care.
Studio Jing is my way of bringing a few of those pieces to people who'll actually use them — and notice the details.
What this studio is (and isn't)
I don't make every piece myself, and I don't claim to. My role is to select, to curate, and to connect — working with makers whose ceramics hold up to close looking and daily use.
That honesty matters to me. It's also what makes the relationship with the people who buy these pieces feel real.
